Saptarshi is a true banger and one of the most enjoyable and hard-hitting compositions in the Secret Chiefs 3 canon. You also get an awesome version of Herrmann's Radar arranged in a way only Trey Spruance could have imagined. Impossible to go wrong with these guys, they are making some of the best music of our time.
Favorite track: Saptarshi.

Awesome, one of the bests band in my collection (not only this one). I follow Spurance since Mr Bungle, this guy is really a great "proteiform" composer guitarist and producer

Because this is one of the best instrumentals I've heard in years. I dance in place every time it comes up in my home or car queue. Really, SC3 is a find. A wonderful band. Favorite track: Saptarshi.
TRACK A: Ishraqiyun "Saptarshi"
In order to face East, one must know how to locate North. On this song, Ishraqiyun nails a facet of their septenary logic to the celestial pole, throwing diatonic sparks into the Cosmos.
TRACK B: FORMS "Radar"
An unassuming but brilliant piece by Bernard Herrmann was hidden in the background during the 1951 film The Day the Earth Stood Still. Originally just piano, vibes and timpani, "Radar" now gets exploded into an uncalled-for over-exposure, via the world's only fully organic, wood & spirit mechanized orchestra, FORMS.

Quite a departure from the wild territories they ventured into with their major label releases. So far, the greatest thrash metal I've heard released in the 2020's. Plus, it's not everyday you hear Rhea Perlman on a metal record. t0cktock
Tenured punk Dan Sartain ditches the guitars in favor of midnight-blue synths and robotic rhythms on this album of minimalist synthpop. Bandcamp New & Notable Feb 18, 2016
